The Joy Principle
Joy, energy and interest are signals. They show where your brain ignites, where your nervous system feels safe, and where your true capacity lives. Joy can occur through difficulty, transformation, and struggle. It's staying connected to what energises you, what absorbs you, what matters to you, what feels meaningful, what makes you curious, what makes you feel more like yourself.
ADHD brains run on an interest-based nervous system, not an importance-based one.
When a task or goal is purely about obligation or external pressure, executive function stalls. But when an approach connects with interest, meaning, and your deeper 'why', strategies and custom habits can actually stick.
In our sessions, we work towards getting a deeper understanding of what is important to you, what really matters, and how you can get genuinely interested in your challenges turning friction into curiosity and building personal strategies that unearth your strengths and work with your brain.
I act as a partner in your journey creating the conditions where you can start coming home to who you are.
The Joy Principle acts as a north star.
A principle is a personal code for how you choose to live.
The Joy Principle isn't about superficial happiness or ignoring real challenges. It is a compass for living with intent, agency, and ease.
